Human Interface Technology Laboratory HITL (HITL) The Human Interface Technology Laboratory at the University of Washington was founded in 1990. It is a centre for research and development of advanced interface technology. Located on the university campus, HITL forms a bridge between academia and industry. It maintains its industrial focus via the Virtual Worlds Consortium and maintains contacts with academia by training students and teaching courses.
