the genus Seriola; especially, the large California
species (Seriola dorsalis) which sometimes weighs
thirty or forty pounds, and is highly esteemed as a food
fish; -- called also cavasina, and white salmon.
(b) The mademoiselle, or silver perch.
(c) The menhaden.
